My regards to Curt's family. He, such a skilled athlete, was also remarkably kind; I remember that most about him, and at a time in our lives when not everyone was.

He was an outstanding athlete, and his kindness to everyone made him the best. .Many stars in his crown!

So sorry to learn of Curt's death - he was a great basketball player for which I had the privilege of playing with him and a genuinely kind person in all respects!

I am sorry to hear that Curt passed away. Curt was a really good athlete and a gentle person. We played on both the football and basketball teams for 4 years. I think he was on the offensive line for football and was our center for basketball. Curt was a good student and a member of the National Honor Society.

After Southwest, Curt went to West Point and played football his freshman year. After that first year, he decided to leave West Point to return to Kansas City for a better fit in college. After he left the military academy I lost touch with Curt and believe he stayed in the Kansas City area for his career pursuits.

We shared a lot of experiences on the football fields and basketball courts. I would like to hear more about Curt's life from anyone who had contact with him after our collegiate years.

Rest in peace Curt.

I wasn't lucky enough to know Curt very well, but guess it's OK after all these years to admit I had a real crush on him. Since we also recently lost our dear friend Fritz, here again is a picture of us all at the Basketball dance in February of '66....along with other wonderful familiar faces. So sad to know that these great guys are no longer here. RIP, Curt and Fritz. Thanks for being such an important part of our class!

Yes, indeed!  The picture is amazing! Could someone identify the participants.  I recognize them, but can't place all the names on the faces.

Front row is Bob Jones and Janette Brown (our Basketball Queen), David Achtenberg, Ann Curtis, Sam Borin, Charlotte Gibson, Steve Weneck, Ruth Saferstein, Bill Cater, Terry Satterlee, Fritz Zeigler, Jean Vincent and Curt Barvick. Kathy Thompson and I were dance chairmen, so our parents were invited to chaperone, so my Dad took this picture.
