Joel was a friend since our days at E. C. White Elementary School.  It's been gone for years, of course, and I hadn't seen Joel since high school.  We were the two biggest of the "big boys" on the football team.  Wearing "Husky" sized pants gave us our sense of humor, I think.  Joel's dad owned the Follies Burlesque Theatre, which was down by the Muelbach Hotel.  The theatre later became an adult or art film venue and Joel took over from his dad when he died.  I enjoyed Joel's company a lot.  RIP, big man.

Joel and I and his family were friends as little tykes used to visit him for great food. He always made me laugh. I am curious how and when he passed. RIP bro.
